Tilburg, Lüneburg, Veere.  New pieces.

It’s been a busy last couple of weeks.  Last week was mostly taken up by POW Ensemble gigs, for whom I played chauffeur, as none of them drive.  They are playing my piece Wanderers at the moment, so it was fun to be part of the tour, and to see a part of Germany that I hadn’t yet visited...

Lüneburg is just southeast of Hamburg, about seven hours drive from Den Haag.  Super charming old Hanseatic town, chartered in 956 or thereabouts.  The POW were playing on an electroacoustic festival put on by the conservatory there.  A small but very enthusiastic (do we know any other kind?) public.  Good food and beer, of course.  I love Germany.

I’m scrambling to finish a piece for piano and electronics before a 1st November deadline.  It’s a festival in Belgrade this December and my friend Teodora is playing the piano pieces for it, so I’m really hoping that a) the piece is good, and b) that it’s accepted!  We’ll see.  The music is definitely happening, but I need to get a solid handle on the electronics.  I still have time.

There’s been snow in Montana already.  I can’t wait to get back there and just feel that mountain air again.....two more months!!!
